The #MEPSMARKETS project
For term 3, the team here at @2CMEPS are working on a huge project.
We're going to try to host our own farmers' markets here at the school!
The first thing that we need to do is learn how to grow fruits and vegetables in our school garden.
We're going to need to learn the things that plants need to live and how we can keep them healthy and happy.
We're going to learn to be farmers!
Luckily for us, we have been able to connect with some expert gardeners and they're going to help us along the way.
Next we will be learning about what makes a good farmers' market and ways that we can try to get members of the school
community involved. For this we're going to learn about advertising and we're also going to visit a farmers' market in the city.
We might even get to see some videos of Mrs. Cantazariti and Mr. Hewes' visits to their local markets and decide which are the
best things about those markets too.
We'll also be learning about some recipes that we can make with some of the food we've been growing here in the garden.
For this stage of the project we'll be asking some of the people we know if they would like to teach us to cook.
For the final stage of the project we're going to use all of the things we've learned to host or own markets at the school!
Please feel free to connect with us on here as we'd love to hear what you think of the project.
Thanks from @2CMEPS!
